"Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.” Joseph Pilates
At One Life Physiotherapy, our Pilates is led by experienced physiotherapists and designed around you, your body and your goals.
Whether you’re completely new to Pilates, returning after an injury or surgery, managing an ongoing condition, or simply want to feel stronger and move better, we provide individual, specialist support for all levels.
Pilates tailored to you
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Our physiotherapists understand injury, rehabilitation and movement, allowing us to tailor exercises to your individual needs and adapt your programme as you progress.
Our small classes mean we can give you plenty of individual attention, helping you exercise with confidence and get the most from every session. We also offer 1:1 Pilates sessions for anyone who would benefit from a completely personalised programme or additional support before joining a class.
We regularly use Pilates to support people with:
Back and neck pain
Hypermobility
Postnatal recovery, including rebuilding abdominal and pelvic floor strength
Recovery following hip replacement, knee surgery and other orthopaedic procedures
Rehabilitation following injury
Improving strength, balance, mobility and flexibility
Building confidence to return to exercise and everyday activities
Matwork & Equipment Pilates
Alongside our small-group matwork Pilates classes, we offer small Equipment Pilates sessions using the Pilates Reformer and Chair.
The Reformer and Chair allow us to use resistance and support in different ways, making exercises easier or more challenging depending on your needs. They can be particularly useful during rehabilitation, when building strength after surgery or injury, or for progressing your Pilates programme as you become stronger.
Small classes. Expert support. A programme that progresses with you.
Because our Pilates is physiotherapist-led, we can take into account your medical history, previous injuries, surgery, pain or movement concerns when planning your exercises.
Our aim isn’t simply to get you through a class. We want to help you understand your body, build strength and confidence, move well and feel capable of doing more of the things you enjoy.
Whether you need the reassurance of a 1:1 session, the individual attention of a small class, or the additional challenge and variety of our Reformer and Chair sessions, we’ll help you find the right starting point.
